Charles Walker opposes regulation of a “free press” as he believes that a free press is simply part of the deal of living in a democracy. He says existing laws should be - and are now being - used to root out illegal practices. He also raises his concerns about the effectiveness and the ethics of introducing a “two thirds lock” into Parliament where decisions are always made on the basis of a simple majority.
